Med Facility Calls on Volunteers for Clinical Trials in Fort Lauderdale Area
The pilot study will test the effectiveness of an ultrasound device called Exogen Bone Healing System (EXOGEN 4000) for treating fractures of the tibia, which is the shinbone below the knee alongside the fibula.
(prHWY.com) January 17, 2013 - Fort Lauderdale, FL -- Fort Lauderdale, Florida (January 11, 2012) - Fort Lauderdale Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, is calling for volunteers to take part in a variety of clinical trials in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas. Their medical study group, Shrock Orthopaedic Research, is currently looking for individuals who are about to undergo tibia bone surgery, or have shoulder pain.

This particular trial is called the TRUST Study: A trial to evaluate ultrasound in the treatment of tibial fractures. The pilot study will test the effectiveness of an ultrasound device called Exogen Bone Healing System (EXOGEN 4000) for treating fractures of the tibia, which is the shinbone below the knee alongside the fibula.

At the same time, Shrock Orthopaedic Research is conducting its own study of a possible pain patch that can treat acute shoulder pain. Patients must be 14 years old or above, and have shoulder pain on the onset between 24 hours and 6 days prior to visiting the clinic. Study related exams and study patches are given at no cost to those who take part.

The clinic will screen applicants over the phone to determine their eligibility for each study's protocol. Those who are eventually chosen will be familiarized with everything involved in the clinical trials, including their purpose, stipends, and more. Participants need not worry about insurance coverage given that all medical study costs are shouldered by the sponsors.

The practice calls on people with tibia bone problems or shoulder pain to consider participating in the studies. They continue to offer their medical services for locals searching for an experienced orthopedic surgeon in Florida.
