(prHWY.com) January 22, 2013 - Noida, India -- If you are not satisfied with your CAT percentile but have scored well in XAT 2013, things will fall in place for you. There are several leading B schools which accept both CAT and XAT scores for their admissions.
Let's take a brief look at the top 10 institutes which accept XAT scores:

* XLRI Jamshedpur

The XAT cut-offs for BM is 80 percentile in EL, 80 percentile in DM, 90 percentile in QA and overall 95 percentile.

The XAT cut-offs for HRM is 85 percentile in EL, 80 percentile in DM, 70 percentile in QA and overall 92 percentile.

* SPJIMR Mumbai

Criteria for short-listing candidates for group interview are consistent good academic performance, relevant work experience, versatility and achievements and test scores. Overall XAT Cut-off is 85 Percentile and the sectional XAT Cut-off is 70 Percentile. This year, SPJIMR will have the interview process scheduled during February and March.

Further details regarding the interview process will be announced in due course of time.


* TAPMI Manipal

Based on the successful performances in GD with a threshold score (to be announced), candidates will be asked to appear for PI on the same day. They are also required to write an essay on a topic of relevance to test their written communication abilities. The last date for registration is 5th February 2013.

* IMT Ghaziabad

The following factors are considered in making a final offer: best test score, work experience, academic record and performance during the written communication test and the personal interview round.

IMT Ghaziabad will be offering 480 seats in PGDM and 180 in dual-country PGDM. IMT Nagpur will be offering 360 seats and IMT Hyderabad will be offering 240 seats.

* BIMTECH:

XAT scores are also accepted by BIMTECH for courses like PGDM (Insurance Business Management), PGDM (Retail Management) and PGDM (Sustainable Development).

There is no cut-off pre-defined, but the merit list is prepared on the basis of CAT/XAT/MAT percentile for calling candidates for GD and Interview in a ratio of 1:10 for total number of seats in all the programmes after all the applications have been received by closing dates.

Apart from GD, PI &WAT, suitable weightages for work experience, academic & regional backgrounds, professional qualification, etc are also given.

* Great Lakes Chennai:

It does not have sectional cut offs for CAT/GMAT/XAT. There is no minimum score to apply. Great Lakes considers the complete profile including academic performance and relevant work experience. Applicants are evaluated based on GMAT/CAT/XAT scores, past academic performance, work experience and essays & performance in the interview and group discussions.

Last date of submission: 31 January 2013

* XIM Bhubaneswar:
The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate's performance in the XAT/CAT as well as in the Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview (which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience). Selected candidates will be informed by mail in April.

Additional weightage on the XAT/CAT score and the WAT, GD & PI score will be given to the candidates who are residents of the state of Orissa. This may lead to a separate set of cut-off marks for them.

XISS Ranchi :The institute gives 50% weightage to XAT/CMAT scores. Weightages for past academic record is 10% group discussion 15% and personal interview 25%.

Three-stage admission process is followed by the institute as per the guidelines of AICTE. These stages are:

1. All India Management Admission Test

2. Group Discussion

3. Personal Interview

The registrations are open till 2 Feb 2013

* Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai

Candidates who have applied to LIBA will be short listed only on the basis of their XAT 2013/CAT 2012 scores. Short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and interview for final selection at Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The last date for application is 10th February 2013.

Final cut-off for XAT 2013 will be announced later in February.

* XIME Bangalore

Criteria for judging suitability of candidates for admission to the PGDM Programme are academic record, XAT/CAT score, performance in Group Discussion, performance in Personal Interview and work experience (if any).

Last date to apply is 28th February.
For all those who have scored high marks in XAT 2013 exams, the above list of institutes should be their target provided they fill the minimum eligibility criteria of the respective institute.
