(prHWY.com) January 29, 2013 - Ontario, Canada -- OFFICE MOVING? FOLLOW THESE PACKING TIPS
USE A BIN, NOT A BOX
Renting a plastic bin from your office moving company is the better option. There is less change of damage from strong climates. They can be labelled and identified easier as well.
LABELLING
Colour code your labels, and do not label the top and all sides. One label on the end side of the box is sufficient. This allows for easier identification and organization.
PLANTS/ARTWORK
Depending on the size of the plant or artwork, it may be best for professional plant movers to take responsibility for the moving of these items, instead of office moving professionals.
FULL OR EMPTY?
All desks and filing cabinets must be emptied prior to the move. All items that can fit inside bins should be packed, and a full desk or filing cabinet can damage to the items and to the office movers.
TOPPING UP
All items packed in a bin need to fit inside the bin securely. The top of the bin must be able to close to ensure safe relocation by your office moving company.
PERSONAL ITEMS
To avoid any chance of damage to personal items, the best way to pack them is for all employees to pack their own items, and move the items themselves.
CREATE YOUR OWN MOVING KIT
Use one moving bin to pack essentials you need for your work. This will ease the transition of the first two days after you complete office moving.
