Jon Lukas Palmer, a young law student, announces his completion of the Oklahoma Licensed Legal Internship Program.
(prHWY.com) January 31, 2013 - Broken Arrow, OK -- Jon Lukas Palmer is pleased to announce the completion of his legal internship through the Oklahoma Licensed Legal internship Program. The year long program, which is sponsored by the State of Oklahoma through a variety of law schools, requires participants to spend one year working under the supervision of local attorneys in the public and/or private sector.

Jon Lukas Palmer chose to spend his one year with the program working in the public sector, devoting much of his time to work on cases in the Public Defender's Office. Palmer described the experience as, "Unlike anything I've ever done in my life. I thought I had an interest in law, but this experience with the Oklahoma Licensed Legal Internship Program really drove that suspicion home for me. I came to realize that law was even more important to me than I ever thought possible!"

Hundreds of law students around the State of Oklahoma participate in the Oklahoma Licensed Legal Internship Program every year. The program has received national recognition for its innovative structure. By allowing students to work on real "live" cases, the Oklahoma judicial system aims to produce high-caliber lawyers that are prepared for a highly competitive national job market.

In order to qualify as a participant in the Oklahoma Licensed Legal Internship Program, students must be prepared to take the first Oklahoma State Bar Exam. Not all students who participate in the program choose to take the Bar Exam. Some students participate with the intention of gaining experience and taking the Bar Exam and practicing law outside of Oklahoma.

"I haven't decided quite yet where I will practice law," said Jon Lukas Palmer. "I love the southern Oklahoma area and Oklahoma City, but I also love the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. I'm a season ticket holder of the Dallas Cowboys, so it's always been tempting for me to move in that direction!"

Currently, Jon Lukas Palmer is looking for more opportunities to further himself in his legal studies and career. With one major internship on his professional resume, Jon Lukas Palmer hopes he can move into a more challenging position.
