(prHWY.com) February 5, 2013 - indore, India -- Chana futures weaken 0.54% on supply pressure.
Chana prices fell by Rs 19 to Rs 3,461 per quintal in futures market, as speculators trimmed their positions. Besides, subdued demand in the spot markets also put pressure on the chana prices at futures trade. At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in April fell by Rs 19, or 0.54 per cent.
Turmeric futures hit upper limit of 4 pc on lower output hopes.
Turmeric prices spurted to hit daily upper limit of four per cent to Rs 6,414 per quintal in futures trade as speculators enlarged their positions, triggered by reports of lower output after farmers cut the area under cultivation. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in April spurted by Rs 248, or 4.02 percent per quintal with an open interest of 27045 lots.
