Artsia opens blog to submissions: what does it take to sell art in 2013?
International art dealer Artsia is asking for artists to share their personal experiences with selling and marketing their art online.
(prHWY.com) February 21, 2013 - Vancouver, Canada -- Artsia began as an innovation when they launched as the first online curated art market last year. Now they are continuing to grow, developing an editorial component and asking artists everywhere to contribute.

Artsia has already begun publishing success stories from their more than 600 artists who have sold their original art internationally on the site. Now they are looking to publish personal stories and experiences from artists everywhere who are adjusting to an art world infiltrated by the Internet.

In 2013, it takes more than just impeccable technique to become a successful visual artist. Maintaining an online presence through social media and marketing work through a unique website are only two of the many additional skills that artists need to compete in the 21st century.

Selling art through a website as opposed to in a gallery has created issues never encountered before - issues Artsia is working to address by opening a forum for all artists who sell their art online.

Artsia is creating a forum to discuss these technological advances in the art world and what it takes to find success and appreciative patronage. Any and all artists who have experience adjusting to the online art scene are asked to share their personal stories on the Artsia blog by writing to their New York editor, Lindsey Davis, who is curating a selection of advice for how to successfully sell art online.
