Sri Lanka tourist visa fees increase by 50 per cent
It has become a tradition for Sri Lanka to make adjustments to their tourist visa policy on the first of every year. Last year, on 1 Jan 2012, a new online ETA visa was launched to replace the visa on arrival.

Last year, on 1 Jan 2012, a new online ETA visa was launched to replace the visa on arrival. Visa charges were US$10 for SAARC countries (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan) and US$20 for others. The application of Sri Lanka ETA visa must be applied online.
Before long, the Sri Lankan government decided to increase the price of ETA visas by as much as 50 per cent. Starting 1 Jan 2013, the price of ETA visas for SAARC countries is US$15 and others are charged US$30. The validity and length of stay for the visas remain the same, both 6 months and 30 days.
The following message appears when you access the Sri Lanka government ETA visa site:
"The ETA processing fee will be increased by US$ 05 for SAARC countries and by US$ 10 for other countries with effect from 01st of January 2013. Revised rates will apply ONLY for applications made from the 01st of January 2013 onwards. Applications made prior to this date will not be affected by this price revision."
