(prHWY.com) March 14, 2013 - Seattle, WA -- No time machine is required for a group of Seattle residents to feel like they are living in the future. The group, known as Evergreen Future Trek, has come up with a way to transform normal Seattle homes into what appears to be future home models.
"I have always wanted to know what it would feel like to live in the future", said Karen Smith, a member of Evergreen Future Trek. "This group has given me the opportunity to transform my current home into a thing of the future."
One of the most essential additions to the homes to make them feel 'futuristic' is the installation of a ductless heat pump. These ductless heat pumps not only use modern
technology to heat homes, but they are designed in a way that appears futuristic.
"If you look at any model of a future city, you will notice that every home has these small, rectangular boxes on the side of them", said Danny Tumwater, a member of the Evergreen Future Trek. "While we never knew what those little boxes were, we can now assume that they were ductless heat pumps."
Billy's Heating and Cooling Company has tried to jump on the futuristic trend and started trying to design the ductless heat pumps to look more futuristic. He hopes that more homes will want to jump on the futuristic trend.
"It is my goal to create items that look like they came from the future", said Billy Sanders, owner of Billy's Heating and Cooling Company. "I remember looking at a model of a future city and wishing I could live in one of those homes. Who knew I would be responsible for helping to make that a reality."
The ductless heat pumps are started to gain worldwide attention. Many of the individuals who have them on their homes have been approached by others who are intrigued by the futuristic design.
"I have had several people walk up to me and ask me what that box was", said Tumwater. "They say it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie."
Danny Tumwater believes that installing more ductless heat pumps on homes will not only encourage people to embrace this new technology, but open up the lines of communication about eco-friendly forms of heating.
"I think the best thing to come out of this is the opportunity to talk about environmentally friendly heating and cooling options", said Tumwater. "That is why I am so glad people come up and ask about it. It allows me to tell them about it."
