The cast of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara along with Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had embarked on a road trip from Mumbai to Delhi as a unique promotional event for their film.
(prHWY.com) July 12, 2011 - Mumbai, India -- The cast and crew of upcoming film, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara had a unique promotional event when they set off on a road journey from Mumbai to Delhi with a convoy of 8-9 cars with the stars, some unit members and security personnel. Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin along with director Zoya Akhtar and producer, Ritesh Sidhwani started from Bandra in Mumbai and had stopovers in cities like Surat, Baroda, Udaipur and Jaipur before they enthralled audiences in a concert in a mall in Gurgaon.
The first halt of the road trip took place in Surat, from where they moved on to Baroda, where they shared a meal with the royal family at the Baroda Palace. All through the trip the lead pair of the film, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif were seen gorging on the various regional delicacies that cam their way.
Says a member of the ZNMD team,"Everyone was having fun. But Kat and Duggu, thoda zyada hi. Looking at them you'd never believe how much they eat. Through the entire trip they had been tucking into fatty oily starchy food...including aloo ka paranthas soaked in pure ghee and rabdi (condensed milk) served in mud containers." Continued the ZNMDB member,"We were travelling on the Rajasthan highway and it was raining. Katrina said she wanted to try freshly-fried pakodas and that too in a dhaba. We all felt out stomachs churn. Hadn't she eaten a full 3-course meal just 45 minutes ago? But Kat was adamant. She wanted pakodas, and that too a traditional roadside dhaba with charpoys laid out for travellers to lounge on. We hunted for several miles for one of those conventional roadside dhabas. News spread in the area that Hrithik and Katrina were travelling on the route. There were crowds on both sides of the road. All the dhabas were modern desi equivalents of McDonalds. Finally, we stopped at one of these. It was called Pandit Dhaba. But crowds had already gathered for a glimpse of the stars. We bought the pakodas and Katrina and Duggu had them in the car."
Throughout the road trip Hrithik and Katrina were seen always together. Says the source,"We travelled in a convoy. The stars were in two cars. While the other stars kept changing places Katrina and Duggu were constantly together, playing pranks on the whole world. On Saturday, at a toll booth in Himmatnagar in North Gujarat, Hrithik decided to play a prank on commuters. He got into a toll booth and started issuing tickets for the cars. The first few cars didn't notice. Then the word spread who was issuing toll tickets from a particular booth. All hell broke loose." When contacted, Katrina confessed to have had a time of her life. "Yeah man, I was eating like there's tomorrow. The food in the dhabas is to die for."
The team held a concert in a Gurgaon mall, where the 8,000-10,000 strong crowd went into a frenzy, seeing the stars in a live concert! Hrithik stole the show with his electrifying performance, but Farhan was no less as he charmed the crowds! Hrithik jumped, danced, sang, and refused to go off stage even when his co-stars were done. He mimed to the crowd, "I don't want to go, I love you guys, I want to hug you all." As he pretended to take a step down the stage, people went ballistic and some girls dramatically clutched at their hearts.
