In March of 2011, a devastating earthquake and tsunami crippled the Japanese landscape and all the homes and businesses in the area. Honda was among those automakers affected. As a result of the damage, the company was forced to halt the production of certain vehicles including the Bridgeport Honda Fit and the Honda Insight, citing a shortage of parts in Japan where the models are assembled.
Now that some time has passed since the natural disasters occurred, your local Brewster Honda
dealership is proud to announce that this temporary halting of production has been lifted and our favorite fuel efficient models have entered back into full production. This comes as welcome news to everyone at Honda of Danbury, as these smaller and more fuel-efficient options are in high demand due to high gas prices.
In a memo to dealerships across the country, senior U.S executive vice president for American Honda Motor Co, John Mendel, explained the company's progress by saying "Honda's manufacturing operations in Japan are returning to nearly normalized levels by the end of summer. ... This means our next allocation will include the fuel efficient Fit and Insight. ... This represents a major improvement from the recovery timetable we provided you last month."
