(prHWY.com) August 22, 2011 - Atlanta, GA -- ATLANTA, Georgia - Aug 19, 2011 - Known as a reputable institution, the Colored Rocks Foundation was recognized with their advocacy to address failing graduation rates in Georgia among young men of color. Those who are not yet familiar with this foundation might ask, "What are Colored Rocks?"
Recently the foundation had just release their new audio clip that answers this common question and will further allow everyone to understand the meaning behind these Colored Rocks.

What are these Colored Rocks and what is their significance for the foundation? Admirably, they are used to describe young men with diverse ethnic background who possess outstanding characteristics and potential for greatness. These youth are admired for their strength and excellence.

Just like a colored rock, a young man of color needs to be harnessed and polished to reveal its greatest potential. As a means of transforming colored rocks into brilliant diamond rocks, the foundation created the Colored Rocks Prize in 2011 to deal with the failing graduation rates in Georgia among young men of color. The Prize competition is intended to support and inspire outstanding young men of color who graduate from high school and make use of their chosen discipline to make a valuable contribution for their society. Every year, the prize will be awarded to 15 students, who exhibit quality, distinction and creativity on a written essay, complete their plan for a significant community project and graduate from high school as expected.

The foundation expects to expand the awards beyond Georgia, and make the competition available in a variety of categories as the foundation grows, together with their remarkable goal to increase the numbers of African Americans, Native Americans, Latino Americans, Asian Pacific Americans and Multi-Racial Americans completing high school and utilizing their skills and talent to make a positive impact and good contribution to their communities.
