Nissan to develop the first two way home charging station.
(prHWY.com) September 8, 2011 - Southern Blvd, FL -- Nissan has recently announced that the brand will soon release the Nissan Leaf to Home system, a home charging station that allows Nissan Leaf owners to charge their cars. Nissan has made the Leaf to Home system a two way charging system, allowing owners to draw from the Leaf's power supply in times of emergency such as a power outage in the home. Northlake Nissan dealer, Royal Palm Nissan, is excited about this all new charging system, and is looking forward to using the Nissan Leaf to Home system once it is available in the United States.
Nissan's Leaf to Home charging station is scheduled to be released for sale in Japan within the year, and Nissan plans to release the home charging station in other countries after that, as Nissan is able to adapt the charging stations to local energy supplies. Nissan hopes to introduce an alternative way of powering a household with the Nissan Leaf to Home charging station. Leaf owners are able to draw from the lithium ion battery to fuel their homes, using up to 24 kilowatt hours of energy stored in the Leaf battery. That amount is enough to power an average U.S. household for one day, and an average Japanese household for two days.
Northlake Nissan dealer, Royal Palm Nissan, is excited to see the all new Nissan Leaf to Home charging station.
