Chevy to develop the 2013 Cruze with a diesel engine.

Chevy released a diesel powered version of the Cruze for the European market, with a 2.0 liter VCDi diesel engine, producing 160 horsepower and 265 pound feet of torque. The diesel powered 2013 Chevy Cruze will be the first General Motors car in the United States to house a diesel engine since 1985. The diesel powered 2013 Chevy Cruze will improve upon the existing fuel economy rating using the high pressure common rail diesel technology.
