Mitsubishi to auction Eclipse for Japan earthquake relief, says Springfield Mitsubishi Galant dealer
(prHWY.com) September 22, 2011 - IL, IL -- The Mitsubishi Eclipse has long been a staple in the Mitsubishi family of vehicles, and this year marks the final year of the 22 years that the Eclipse has been in production. Mitsubishi plans to commemorate the Eclipse by auctioning the final model this month, with proceeds benefitting the earthquake relief effort in Japan. The final Mitsubishi Eclipse to be produced will be an Eclipse SE Coupe with a 3.8 liter V6 engine. This is a unique model for Mitsubishi, as this model is the only Eclipse coupe to ever be built with SE trim. Mitsubishi plans to donate all proceeds to the Japan Red Cross earthquake relief fund. The auction will take place from September 15 - 18 during the annual St. Charles Auction in St. Charles, IL. The auction will take place at Pheasant Run, and is being hosted by Mecum auctions. Mitsubishi expects the vehicle to sell for at least $30,000.
