(prHWY.com) November 18, 2011 - ---------, CT -- Smooch.com has found that for many Britons, age is an important factor when dating.
In an online survey it has been revealed that 70% of daters would date someone older than themselves but for many, there was a restrictive age to which they would go to.
The findings showed that 32% of those surveyed said that they would date someone up to 10 years older than themselves and 31.5% said no more than 5 years. A further 6.5% said they would date a partner that was no older than 15 years than their own age.
But only 30% of those dating said that age was just an illusion and a number and that they would date someone of any age if they really liked them.
The results differed considerably between men and women, as 40% of men said they would date a woman of any age if they were fond of them, compared to just 19% of females. And 42% of women answered that they would not date someone more than 10 years older, in comparison to just 23% of men.
The Smooch dating survey also found that the verdicts varied significantly with regards to Brits on variable incomes. 83.33% of daters earning between £10,000 and £19,999 said that they would date someone up to 5 years older than themselves whereas only 33% of those making more than £40,000 agreed.
