(prHWY.com) February 28, 2012 - Gants Hill, United Kingdom -- WOMAD (World of Music, Arts and Dance), a festival of music, art and dance from all around the world, is the brainchild of the British singer Peter Gabriel and aims to bring different musical rhythms to a wider public. The world famous festival of international music comes to the provincial town of Caceres, Extremadura. There are no internationally famous acts (unless you count Kiki Dee) but the performances and workshops are FREE. Stick around for the muleteer racing at the end of the month too. The world music festival Womad is to finally stay in the Extremadura town of Cáceres which will host the 17th edition of the gathering between May 10 to 13.

WOMAD will be held from 6th to 9th May in the historical center of Extremadura's capital Cáceres. With an impressive line-up of international artistes, endless rows of merchandise stalls and a huge party atmosphere, WOMAD will surely rock your world.
WOMAD festivals offer an exceptional mix of musicians and artists, performing in a notable family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of audience participation and workshops. Master performers from around the world, interact, learn from each other and jam, to produce unique music and dance events.

Some of the most famous performers for this year's WOMAD Cáceres include Spanish Jazz singer Amparo Sanchez, Western Kenya traditional JoLuo music band Kenge Kenge Orutu Systems (KKOS) and interesting Mali desert music from Terakaft.
Besides music, expect to be enthralled by the food market and merchandise stores. Plaza de Santa Maria will be the venue for the global market and 'Sabores del Mundo'. Workshops will be also be held at Plaza San Jorge, where children workshops are conducted by Anita Chowdry from India/UK, Louise Block from UK/US and Aurora (UK).
The festival is open to the public, entrance is free.
