Over ten members of the Soil-Away team just completed IICRC/The Clean Trust water damage and fire damage training courses. Soil-Away attendees primarily consisted of cleaning and restoration technicians, but members of management and the office also participated. For a few of the technicians, this was their first experience in a water and/or fire damage restoration course. "The classes really helped supplement the in-house training that Soil-Away provides," explained technician Sam Whitehead. "This was a great chance to expand my technical understanding of what we deal with on a daily basis when it comes to cleaning up water and fire damage."
The water mitigation course is "designed to provide basic education...in the science and practice of water damage restoration." The goal is to have students "prepared to perform and document typical residential or light commercial water-damage restoration projects from start to finish" (

"The Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician course concentrates on technical procedure for successfully completing the restoration of a fire and smoke damaged environment" (
