(prHWY.com) March 26, 2012 - Falkland, United Kingdom -- The school is currently interviewing for a variety of care worker posts after the success of increasing our provision to younger pupils and 52 week placements. Placements can be residential or day provision. Pupils may have additional support needs including those on the Autistic Spectrum (particularly Asperger's Syndrome), Social, Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties, ADHD and Tourette's Syndrome. Knowledge within any of these fields would be desirable. The pupils may also find it difficult to cope in a mainstream educational environment. Their difficulties might also impact on their inter-personal relationships in other aspects of their life, particularly with their peer group and at home. Experience in working within this kind of environment again would be beneficial to any applicants. The school offers both 39 and 52 week placements. Pupils on 39 week placements are resident from Monday to Friday, returning home for weekends and holidays.
Planned interaction between home and school is vital and the Outreach Programme operating at weekends and holidays augments this. Applicants must be aware that weekend and outdoor activities will be included in their weekly working routine. The 52 week provision enables pupils whose circumstances mean they are unable to return home at weekends and holidays to experience a safe and caring environment throughout the year.
Applicants should be widely experienced and professional; have a combined role in their responsibility for ensuring that individual pupils receive an optimum service. They should develop creative and effective ways of working with pupils and promote individual growth, development and independence for pupils. They should also have experience in being involved with other professional agencies in reviewing and revising care plans to meet changing needs, preferences and circumstances of pupils.
