(prHWY.com) April 4, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Millions of people all over the world have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. There are hundreds of products and herbal medications that claim to help people fall asleep or stay asleep. While some people find success with these types of products, others still struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep each night. It is individuals like this who Dr. Summers has spent the entire summer dedicating research to.

"I was one of those people who had difficulty falling asleep", said Dr. Summers. "I would lie awake for hours, just wishing I could fall asleep. I tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. It was at that point I knew I had to get my behind in gear and find a solution."

Dr. Summers spent an entire year studying the sleeping patterns of humans, rats, and other types of animals. One of the studies took a look at how playing music softly could help lull people into a rhythmic sleep pattern, and they would fall asleep faster.

"I noticed people who played music while they were trying to fall asleep were able to fall asleep and stay asleep longer", said Dr. Summers. "I took this theory and improved on it."

Dr. Summers designed a combination portable radio with the luxurious memory foam pillow. Inside each memory foam pillow is a tiny portable radio that plays a wide variety of music. Everything from rap, jazz, classical and Broadway show tunes can be found on this small radio. Individuals rest their heads on the pillow, and the music is softly played into the back of the head.

"Playing the music directly into the ears sometimes caused nightmares", said Dr. Summers. "I had to modify the design and make it so the music wasn't being pumped directly into the brain. This is what I came up with."

Preliminary studies showed that a shocking 80% of the people who used this musical memory foam pillow were able to fall asleep faster. About 20% of the people were able to sleep for at least five hours straight.

"I wasn't able to fall asleep at all", said study participant Sam Wiggins. "I tried this pillow and within two days I was sleeping through the night. I was amazed."

Dozens of manufacturers have shown interest in the pillow. Dr. Summers believes that it will be mid-summer when the pillow may be released to the public.

"I started out working to discover a cure to a personal problem", said Dr. Summers. "What I ended up with is a solution that could change the way mankind sleeps. It's shocking!"
