(prHWY.com) April 17, 2012 - Hartlepool, United Kingdom -- Most fish tank owners are obviously inclined to making their fish tank looks as natural as possible with the addition of plants. However, it should be remembered that these plants actually play a more serious role in fish tanks than simply being a means of decoration.
A fish tank without aquatic plants can look rather dull and unnatural. One of the best ways of making your tank look stunning is by the inclusion of lush green plants that thrive in water. In addition to being a fish tanks décor, plants are a great way of making the fish in the tank happier, healthier and more relaxed. Mrs Alan Mary of
www.fishtanks.co.uk shared her views on decorating your fish tanks with aquatic plants. Pointing out its advantages, Mrs Alan Mary said, "The three main advantages plants bring into fish tanks is that they produce oxygen and use up the nitrogenous waste products released by the fish. Secondly, fishes tend to feel more at home if there are plants in the tank and this can also act as a good hiding place for them. And thirdly, it is used as fish tank décor. There is a world of a difference between an aquarium with plants compared to those without plants", she added.
As far as the negative aspects of having aquatic plants in your fish tank are concerned, the first thing is that having real plants have to be well maintained, nurtured and propagated. Offering some advice on this note, Mrs Alan Mary advised, "Looking after plants in your fish tank takes a good measure of your time and dedication. You have to ensure that the decaying parts of the plants are cut off regularly or it could lead to pollution of water, which in turn can cause death in fish if left to remain. Another point is that some fish tend to nibble on these plants, so you can have a hard time ion keeping these plants alive. Additionally, natural plants need fertilizers and nutrients too, so this should be attended to as well," she concluded.
However, having plants in your fish tank is actually a good idea, but you will have to be attentive to maintenance too. If you are willing to spare some times on dealing with this, including plants into your tank would well be worth the idea.
