Self-Grooming Dog Tool Allows Pet Owners to Pamper Their Pooches

(prHWY.com) May 2, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Owning a pet can be relaxing, entertaining, and fill people's day with fun and excitement. The only downside to owning a pet is having to go through the tedious task of grooming and cleaning the pet on a regular basis. A proposed dog grooming tool may just take that tedious task away from the pet owner and place it in the hands - or paws - of the dog.

"Grooming is vital to keeping a pet healthy and happy", said Megan Jubilee. "It used to be that pet owners would either have to take responsibility and groom their pets themselves, or pay tons of money and take them to a dog grooming facility. Now they don't have to."

The dog grooming tool called "Clips for Yips" is a small device that fits nicely in the corner of a bathroom or kitchen. The dog is able to walk under the device and start the grooming process with a push of a button.

"Dogs know when they need to be groomed", said Jubilee. "Clips for Yips' will give them the opportunity to do it themselves. In a way it makes them feel independent and not so dependent upon their owners."

Jubilee released the self-grooming dog tool at this year's Dog and Cat Show in Chicago, Illinois. According to the brief slideshow presentation that was shown before the actual product demonstration, this was a product that has been in the making for six long years. The idea was sparked from when Jubilee lost her job, and was unable to afford professional dog grooming services for her dog.

"I felt like such a terrible dog owner because I couldn't get my dog the grooming she needed", explained the video. "I worked day and night to develop a tool that allowed me to give my dog professional grooming at half the price. This is the result of that hard work."

Several major manufacturers of dog grooming supplies were on hand to see Jubilee's presentation. Each of them has placed a bid on the product in hopes of being able to carry it in their store.

"People love their pets and want what's best for them", said Pets Plus product representative Tim Hawk. "This product allows them to give them the best grooming at a fraction of the cost. I see it being extremely popular."

Clips for Yips is expected to be on store shelves by the first week of August. The manufacturer's retail price is unknown at this time.
