Weird Holidays Get Recognition at Small Fresno Party Decoration Store

(prHWY.com) May 3, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Celebrations and parties are a part of the society humans have built. People love to celebrate anything and everything from birthdays, work promotions, divorces, and weddings, and they love to celebrate it in style. Finding decorations for the more traditional celebrations such as birthdays and weddings isn't hard, but what about the holidays and occasions that aren't as commonly celebrated as others? A small shop located in a mall 20 minutes outside of Fresno, California has the answer.

Sixty-eight year old and recent business owner, Susan Beldoe opened up "Celebrate Life's Little Moments" as a way for people to celebrate all occasions not just the major ones. Decorations for holidays such as National Pirates Day, National Potato Day, and National Taco Day can all be found at the small shop.

"I was one of those people that loved to celebrate", said shop owner Susan Beldoe. "People would look at me weird when I'd say 'hey want to come over for National Pirate Day?'. But the truth is I loved to celebrate long forgotten holidays and special occasions."

"Celebrate Life's Little Moments" is dedicated to providing the biggest selection of party decorations for the most obscure holidays. Aisles of banners, party plates, cups, streamers and posters that play to the theme of the holiday can be found in Susan Bledoe's shop.

"I always had the hardest time finding decorations for some of the holidays", Beldoe explains. "For example, National Potato Day I wanted a plastic baked potato for a party game I wanted to play with my guests, and no one had it! I was shocked."

There are over 100 forgotten holidays that "Celebrate Life's Little Moments" celebrates. Some of customer's favorite holidays include National Pirate Day, National Teddy Bear Day, and National Walk like a Duck Day.

The small shop located in the northwest corner of the recently opened Fresno Commons Malls has been one of the most commonly visited shops in the mall. After only being open three months, "Celebrate Life's Little Moments" has seen over 5,000 customers, 10,000 visitors, and turned a profit of $13,000 a month.

"I like to wander into Celebrate Life's Little Moments just to see what weird holidays there are", said local college student Holly Tingle. "Some of the holidays are so weird, but the best thing is Ms. Bledoe knows the history and origin of every holiday. All you have to do is ask and she'll start telling you. It's like a history lesson, only one you want to stay awake for!"
