Sakura publishing signs emmy award winning Veteran cnn correspondent gina london to book deal
Her debut book will feature humorous quips and observations about life in Europe with four year old daughter, Lulu
(prHWY.com) May 4, 2012 - Utica, MI -- HERMITAGE, PA --- Independent publisher,
Sakura Publishing, announces it has signed with former CNN correspondent and anchor Gina London to write her first book, a humorous memoir of raising her child, Lulu, first in Paris, and now in Tuscany.
London and her husband, Scotty Walsh, lived in Paris from 2008 to 2010 -- arriving when Lulu was only 9 months old. London began writing a journal of her more trying, yet often hilarious moments in Paris like changing Lulu's diaper smack on the busy sidewalk at Rue di Rivoli near the Louvre because while Parisians love children, they apparently have never heard of a changing table.
London now lives in Tuscany where her husband trains in the Comedia dell'Arte. Their daughter Lulu is four and proudly declares she speaks "English, Français, Italiano and also the languages of cats and dogs."
London began posting Lulu's colorful observations about their overseas adventures on Facebook (which were often reprinted in The Denver Post) and friends urged her to compile the best of them in book form.
London says of her opportunity with Sakura, "I am inspired and motivated by the support and encouragement I'm receiving from Sakura to finally create a book out of a series of funny journal essays."
Sakura Publishing President Derek Vasconi replies, "Everyone at Sakura Publishing is really excited to work with such a hard-working and inspiring author like Gina London. She embodies the spirit of self-motivation and determinism that we look for when signing new talent. In fact, she could very well be the archetype!"
The yet to be titled book will honor the joys and frustrations of parenthood through the eyes of a child who is in that all too short time of utter innocence and sometimes brutal honesty.
The book is set for release on Black Friday, November 23, 2012, just in time for the holidays. Pre-order sales will be announced soon.
When not writing, London is an internationally recognized communications expert who serves as Managing Director, Europe for The Pincus Group, a Washington, DC based executive presentation and media training firm.
Founded in 2007, by author and musician Derek Vasconi, Sakura Publishing has authors in worldwide markets. Not a vanity publisher, Sakura provides its services, including setting up interviews, public appearances, and traditional ad publicity for its authors, free.
