(prHWY.com) May 26, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Superheroes have the weight of the world on their shoulders. They are charged with supernatural abilities that allow them to protect the innocents of the world, but sometimes those responsibilities lead to extreme emotional problems.

"We have found that many of the superheroes of the world have started to turn to alcohol as a way to handle the pressures", said therapist at the Batwings for Help Rehabilitation Center, Sherry Wilson.

"It's unfortunate and sad to see that these once strong and respected individuals are now in a position where they feel they have to drown their sorrows with alcohol."
Superheroes that check into the Batwings for Help Rehabilitation Center go through extensive counseling sessions. The counseling sessions involve group, individual and family therapy, but there are also several sessions tailored specifically for the Superheroes.

"We are one of the only alcohol rehabilitation program that is tailored specifically for superheroes with supernatural powers", explained Wilson. "We offer several counseling sessions that are tailored to the unique needs of superheroes."

One of the unique therapy sessions the Superheroes in need go through is the villain/good guy therapy session. Many of the Superheroes have a guilty conscience that they were responsible for the direct demise of a villain. This guilt causes them to turn to alcohol, and move in a downward spiral that they can't seem to get out of.

"In addition to the villain/good guy therapy sessions, we offer a whole session on how to deal with old age", said Wilson. "Growing old is tough enough on humans, but for Superheroes who rely upon their strength and good looks, it can be devastating."

Currently, 15 of the 25 patients at Batwings for Help Rehabilitation Center are Superheroes who have been pushed aside in favor of younger, youthful Superheroes. These Superheroes often directly take the place of the older Superheroes leaving feelings of resentment and guilt.

"We live in a very youth centered culture", explained Wilson. "This can be hard for Superheroes who are used to having crowds of people cheering them, or parades dedicated to their arrival home. They just don't know how to deal."

The alcohol rehabilitation program has a 99.9% success rate. This is higher than those for normal humans. Many of the Superheroes who have used it give it rave reviews.

"I didn't want to admit I had a problem", said the Masked Man of Manhattan. "But the program allowed me to see I had some demons to face. I am just glad I was able to overcome them, and come out stronger and better than ever."
