(prHWY.com) May 26, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Entering drug rehab is a big commitment. Not only are the people entering drug rehab facing numerous physical additions, but they are dealing with many emotional and mental demons that have caused them to turn to drugs in the first place. While many patients are able to successfully obtain sobriety for a short period of time, a group of patients who entered a drug rehab center in North Dakota are showing signs of something bizarre.

"The patients who received drug rehabilitation services from Cornfields Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services appear to be exhibiting some very unusual signs", explained a representative for the Center for Disease Control, Sam Howl. "I don't think I've seen a case like this in my entire time working for the agency."

It appears as if patients who entered the drug and alcohol rehabilitation services program are starting to exhibit signs of other unusual additions. The biggest addition that tends to be showing itself in these patients is the tendency to want to eat pairs of dirty socks.

"It's really disgusting", said Howl. "These people will just whip off their socks and start eating. I do not fully understand the how or why this has happened, but it is happening this isn't some movie or TV show. In fact, I've seen people eat their socks with sugar, salt and other condiments to add flavor."

The first reports of the crazy additions came in during early March when a mother sent a report to the CDC that her sons were exhibiting extremely unusual behavior. After running several blood and urine tests it was determined that nothing physically was wrong with them, and it could be traced to the drug and rehab center.

"We are currently investigating what happened behind the closed doors of the Cornfields Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services", said FBI representative Clint Chimes. "Something happened and it caused this usual addition to form. We have 150 reported cases, so this isn't something that just happens to be some made up story. It's real.

Agents for the FBI and CDC have been extremely tightlipped about what their research has found, but anonymous sources have reported that there has been a breakthrough in researching the cause.

"It appears as if the Cornfields Center was engaging in some untested types of therapy", said the unknown source. "The therapy was supposed to cure the cravings for drugs, but it appears that it turned them into addicts for dirty socks."

There is no known cure for the addiction, but researchers are trying diligently to find a way to reverse it.
