(prHWY.com) June 7, 2012 - Bangkok, Thailand -- On your way to Thailand the flight attendant might provide you with a brochure that has 2 parts, one that the immigration officer will tear off and the other you will keep to show the officer when you arrive. IN NO WAY LOSE THIS CARD, you will need it later. You will also need your passport, so make sure that they are together. If for any reason you don't have this information you will be spending some time in order to get the information. For this is not easily accessible to the police. Also on your flight you will be given a declaration sheet for customs so they know what you're bringing in to the country. When filling out the customs paper, you need to make sure you have your visa number and the exact date of arrival along with your passport number. They often will at times, like to know the company that is sponsoring you as well as their address or the address of the hotel that you will be staying at if you are just there to visit. It is more of a precaution to help protect you from immigration than to hurt you. After all that is completed, you can pick up your luggage and go where you want to go. But keep in mind some information about customs.
Customs is quite reasonable. When it comes to checking things, they try to be nice to you because they know that your belongings are personal and mean something. Keep in mind that if you are carrying more than one item that is alike they will probably stop and ask you about it and ask how valuable it is. They may even confiscate it. So be careful, the same rule exists when leaving the country. If you don't want items to be taken from you, make sure that you put them on the report you give to customs as items you have. There are some things that are illegal to bring in to and out of the country such as drugs, harpoons for fishing, guns, and porn. These items will easily land you in the Thai jail. There are some things that you can take in and out of the country but they are highly controlled such as Buddha images of any size, and antiques. You must have a license to get approval for these. Money is not an issue. You can come in and leave the country with any amount of money.
Foreign cash is not accepted at most merchants when

There are money changers in the airport when you arrive or leave but these are not well known for good rate of exchange.
Thailand is not an uncivilized nation; they do have taxi's that will transport you where you need to go. The taxi's will take you shopping and to the coffee shop if you need. They will take you anywhere as long as you are willing to pay.
