(prHWY.com) June 19, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Hollywood movie soundtracks are often produced by major record labels and well-known composers, but that might all change. A recent contest held by top Hollywood producer allowed local music production schools to try to make it into the big leagues.

"Breaking into the Hollywood scene can be tough", explain a representative for the Hollywood producer who wished to remain anonymous. "Most people fail at it. My client wished to give music production students a chance to really let their talents shine and record an entire soundtrack for a major motion picture."

The contest required that music production school record an hour-long documentary on why they should be chosen for such a prestigious position. The documentary needed to show the musical talent and the
producing talent that the school had on hand.

"We didn't want to pick just any random school that entered" explained the representative. "We wanted a school that was rich in talent and who could really wow the audience through music. I think we found that exact school."

A small music production school based out of Kansas entered the contest. The hour-long documentary featured numerous small town students who dreamed of one day making it big in the music industry. The students played classical, jazz, and pop music on numerous instruments.

"It was amazing to see what they could do" explained the representative for the producer. "However, it was their two original compositions that got my client in the end to choose them. The original compositions were moving and just really made you want to cry. Just what we want when it comes to a Hollywood soundtrack."

The small music production school will write and compose all original works for an up and coming action adventure movie. The legendary producer will work closely with the students to teach them the process of not only writing and recording the music, but syncing it up to the movie.

"This is a process that very few people get to learn about", said John Carroll, a student at the production school. "I am so excited. When I told my parents they couldn't even believe I was speaking the truth to them about this. They always thought music production school meant I wouldn't be doing anything bit, now look at this!"

The movie is scheduled for an early 2014 release. The entire school will be involved with the recording process. It is estimated the school beat out over 15,000 schools to win this chance of a lifetime.
