Could the Nation's Secrets Be Stored Remotely by 2014?
The United States' top government secrets are safe and secure in a remote location that is protected around the clock, but what would happen if something happened to that facility.
(prHWY.com) June 20, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- The United States' top government secrets are safe and secure in a remote location that is protected around the clock, but what would happen if something happened to that facility. If something should happen to the facility, all the secrets would be lost forever, but a new plan to work with Microsoft might change that.

"We are currently in talks with Microsoft to create a safe and secure remote server that will allow us to host important government information on a cloud hosting site", said an anonymous source within the government. "The major concern we have is over security, as we can't have hackers and other people gaining access to it."

Top government officials are working collaboratively with Microsoft to create a Windows cloud hosting site that will allow all the information to be securely stored on the remote server. If anything should happen to the physical location where the information is stored, everything would be backed up online.

"If anything should ever happen to the country where we would need to relocate unexpectedly, we wouldn't have to worry about packing up all the information and taking it with us", said the anonymous source. "We would just be able to access it from any laptop or computer that had Internet access."

One of the ways the government plans on keeping this information private and secure is by having multiple passwords that are required to be entered into the website. Most cloud hosting servers have built-in firewalls and other forms of protection, but are only secured by one password.

"The goal is to create a site that would require at least six different passwords", said the source. "These passwords would be carried around almost like the legendary 'football' the President carries around. These would only be used in case of an emergency, and would be changed out on a regular basis."

The plans to move this sensitive information have not yet begun. The groups of individuals have scheduled several meetings with top government security officials and the President to discuss the matter.

"We are looking at an approximate date of sometime in 2014 before this all setup and finished", said the source. "We have to create the website, discuss what information will go on there, test out the security features, and other things before we can put the actual information on the website. Right now, this is in its early stages of development."
