Miami, FL - Fushu Daiko, South Florida's original Japanese taiko drumming group, announced today that they have formed a new non-profit organization: Japan Arts, Inc.
(prHWY.com) January 20, 2011 - Miami, FL -- Miami, FL - Fushu Daiko, South Florida's original Japanese taiko drumming group, announced today that they have formed a new non-profit organization: Japan Arts, Inc. The organization has separated itself from the management of Sincronia USA and Fernando Moraes, and taken a leap toward realizing the dream of its founders.
For 20 years Fushu Daiko has been educating the South Florida community and those up and down the East coast about Japanese Taiko Drumming by performing for public and private events. Taiko performances have also included Japanese instruments such as Koto, Shamisen, Shakuhachi, Shinobue, as well as Japanese dancing and storytelling. Now, with this restructuring of the organization, the group will be able to create subsidized programs in Japanese performing arts for schools, libraries, and other community forums.
"We are excited and motivated to partner with great non-profit organizations and reach out into our community and beyond to bring the beauty and joy of the traditional performing arts of Japan to as many people as possible", said Greg Williams, long time performing member of Fushu Daiko. "Some of our upcoming goals include the opening of a new training space, the release of a new album, new T-shirt designs, and more diverse class offerings."
