Houston contractor advises locals to fight summer surprises with a sturdy roof
A Houston roofing company of over 20 years hinted that a few weather disturbances this summer can ruin a family's vacation and send them running home to a faulty roof or an inadequate unit.
(prHWY.com) July 9, 2012 - Houston, TX -- All-Tex Home Improvement Services - Anticipating weather spoilers in the coming months, a local company tells homeowners in Texas to prepare better for roofing projects from June to August.

"We want locals to really enjoy their vacation," said All-Tex Home Improvement services, "and to achieve this, they must know how to take a few precautionary measures such as having the health of their roofing system checked by professionals."

The Houston roofing company of over 20 years hinted that a few weather disturbances this summer can ruin a family's vacation and send them running home to a faulty roof or an inadequate unit.

A structure that isn't prepared to brave the Hurricane Season (which also commenced this month) was one of the worst scenarios that the contractor said homeowners should strive to avoid.

A Mixed Lot of Spoilers

The company said the following events can spoil a family's get-away:

* Ozone Alerts. Usually issued in summer where high levels of ozone affect outdoor air quality, ozone alerts tip off residents to limit outdoor exposure. The Department of Environmental Conservation warns that inhaling air during an alert can come with permanent health consequences for young and elderly household members. A good roof, according to All-Tex Home Improvement Services, contributes to more livable indoor living conditions should an alert be raised.

* Hurricanes. The first few weeks of June are generally too early to expect the passing of strong storms, but weather analysts say it's not completely wise to discount such possibility in the lone star state. Tropics expert ImpactWeather disclosed that activity in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean could lead to the development of thunderstorm activity. Fortunately, unless a super typhoon is expected, weatherproofed homes and units with a good roofing system can protect homeowners better against the elements.

* Wild Fires. Humidity and a few rain showers may remove drought as one of the main starters. Fire officials in Texas said today however that burning activities can spark a wildfire. Since the offense is punishable with a measly $500 fine, some families might just take the risk. A homeowner's best recourse then is to foresee and contain possible damage by choosing fire-resistant shingles and siding, said All-Tex Home Improvement Services.

Specifics on how to select and prepare for roofing projects are available in the company's blog entries for July.

The contractor is also inviting homeowners to avail of the free in-home quote and consultation service for proper recommendations on how to fire-proof and leak-proof the home.
