Good looking, fashionable spectacles need not be fussed over anymore
Mono Design's Mido 2012 uses Beta-plastic, resulting in an ultra lightweight, durable spectacle frame that maintains individualism and stylish chic
(prHWY.com) July 10, 2012 - Petaling Jaya, Malaysia -- [Malaysia, June 2012] Stylish Korean stars like Kim Bum Soo, Kim Sun A, Choi Jeong-yoon, Choi Kang-Hee, and Lee Hui Jae know that a good pair of glasses does not just improve vision, but also can serve as the perfect accessory to a simple outfit or to further glam up an already chic look.

These popular stars have chosen Mono Design, currently the leading brand of eyewear in Taiwan, Japan and Korea, as their choice of eye wear. Mono Design is well favoured over its competitors because of the revolutionary technology known as CNC which is used to manufacture the frames. Stars prefer the comfort and better fit on the face that comes from choosing Mono Design spectacles.

Newly launched internationally in April of 2011, a popular demand as resulted in creation of the Mido 2012 collection.

Using a type of plastic known as Beta-plastic, this polymer has excellent thermal properties, and even flame retardancy, which means that accidentally leaving the glasses in the car on a hot day would not warp the frames. With good chemical resistance, it even preserves the frame's colours when in contact with alcohol. Beta-plastic is such a reliable polymer that it is EU and FDA compliant and has been used in the aircraft, and even medical industry.

Originally used in manufacturing just the side temples of frames, advancement in technology has made it possible for the entire frame to be made from Beta-plastic. This ultra lightweight plastic has made wearing spectacles with heavy designs absolutely comfortable and for long use, something that was not achievable previously.

More popular than acetate and polyamide, Beta-plastic can be used to create frames measuring a mere 1.2mm thickness and weighing less than 10 grams, yet able to withstand pressure and high temperature.

Injection molding was previously used during the manufacturing of resin frames. This would result in plastic frames with compromised chemical properties such as strength and durability. Such a method could only yield a limited number of designs and parts of the frames did not 'meet' and adhere properly because of the gaps created by using injection molding.

Beta-plastic is made through an innovative process known as CNC (Computerised Numerical Control) manufacturing. Developed by Humax Optic, the original elasticity, durability of the Beta-plastic is kept true. This patented process of using CNC retains and maximizes the properties and characteristics of the material. Spectacle frames can be custom made without any restrictions, without an unsightly
parting line that is typically visible from injection molding. The addition of intricate designs such as engraving, for an individualistic look is completely possible. Beta-plastic-made eyewear manufacturing technology by CNC cutting is patent registered in Korea and pending in fashion bases such as France, Italy and Germany.

Characteristics of Mono Designs' newest Mido 2012 collection made from CNC manufactured Beta-plastic frames:
* Strong elasticity of the frames, the frames did not lose shape under high pressure or twisting.
* Ultra lightweight frames for stylish, comfortable wear throughout the day.
* Screw-less design in some models for lighter, less wieldy frames. The lack of a screw also saves the inconvenience of missing screws.
* Adjustable silicon pads that fit most nose shapes and sizes without discomfort and smooth to touch against skin without sliding down. Thinner edges from the CNC cut allows the frames to suit all face types by adjusting the end tips at the ears.
* The only coloured frames in the market that will not fade from alcohol based cleaners.
* The special coloration technology used in manufacturing the frames provides a more 'metallic feel', with the resulting product looking like metal frames yet superbly comfort and lightweight.

The Mido 2012 collection features spectacles and sunglasses in various colours and shapes, from the simplest of wearers in basic frame shapes and colours, to pacifying the demands of the most creative and unique tastes in the form of the Special Sunglasses range which includes frames adorned with beautiful floral designs and engravings.
