(prHWY.com) July 21, 2012 - Noida, India -- Megha Dhingra comes across as a very confident and charming girl-next-door. Her confidence is infectious. A PGDM marketing student at the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Megha has just finished her summer internship with Tata Motors in Gurgaon. She was associated with the Referral Marketing Project. Under this project, the company takes references from existing customers and then approaches prospective customers to increase sales.
Megha has impressed everyone at Tata Motors with her dedication and hard work. "They had given me a lot of authority and my decision-making capabilities were highly praised there. This was a shot in the arm for a summer intern and really boosted my confidence level. I did consult my seniors before taking major decisions, but the faith they have shown in my abilities will always help me fight difficult situations," remarks Megha enthusiastically.
Megha certainly enjoyed her recent stint with authority and power, but even so, there were some challenges for her to overcome. "Since I was a summer intern, I was not provided with documents like a visiting card. I think that is quite a tangible problem with interns in the industry. In my case, it proved to be a hindrance initially, when I had to approach corporate employees in connection with the referral programme. But thanks to my communication and soft skills training at BIMTECH, I managed to overcome such initial barriers," says Megha with a smile on her face.
Every day was a learning experience for her.
"Everyone back at the company was really helpful. Since my project involved a lot of interaction with people at all levels of management, I really got to learn the tricks of the trade," mentions Megha.
Megha found her first real corporate work exposure very encouraging.
She believes that her stellar performance is the result of a solid foundation laid down at BIMTECH through its student-centric curriculum. Megha's industry mentor at Tata Motors is sure that her efforts will streamline the Referral Marketing Programme, which will result in increased sales.
"It is a great feeling to live up to expectations, but this is just the beginning and there is a long way to go," adds Megha with her eyes set firmly on the future.
