(prHWY.com) July 29, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Only a handful of people are able to say they've been to the moon, but a new line of products and services offered exclusively at a
group of thrift stores in New Jersey will give people a chance to experience what it is like on the moon. Shoot the Moon Thrift Store in southern New Jersey has set up a small section devoted just to people who want to experience what it would be like to be on the moon.
"Not many people get to go to the moon", said Nancy Elegance, owner of Shoot the Moon. "I think it's only like one in 4 million gets to go to the moon. What I've done is I've tried to recreate that experience, but only here on Earth."
Shoot the Moon features an extensive collection of space inspired gear, including various t-shirts, jackets and uniforms from NASA, actual memorabilia from various space missions and other merchandise. However, it is the unique 'play' room that brings people to this unique thrift store.
"We took a section of the store and made it a moon/space related area", said Elegance. "We have a small capsule that gives people the experience of zero gravity, we have that thing that twirls around that NASA uses and other items. It's like a mini-indoor space park right here in New Jersey."
The space themed park is also educational. There are several books, posters and areas that educate visitors on the various aspects of space travel and the universe.
"Our goal is really to spark an interest in space travel", said Elegance. "We offer a unique combination of fun and excitement, and education all in a compact thrift store space!"
Admission to the space themed park only costs a few dollars and allows children of all ages to experience the thrills and excitement of space. The park is open regular business hours, and has already greeted over 500 guests in the short span of time it has been open.
"My children groaned when they heard I was taking them to another thrift store", said Tori Thomas. "They didn't realize it had a huge theme park type area in it. Now they beg me to take them there all the time. I get to shop and they get to play in the space area."
Shoot the Moon isn't just a mini space themed park; it is also a full-fledged thrift store. The store features antiques, collectibles and used items that people from all over the area have donated.
