Crafting Trend Moves to Storage Pods with New Reality Show

(prHWY.com) July 29, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Competition reality shows are a favorite amongst television audiences. All it takes is a combination of teams, a panel of judges and a creative idea, and a hit reality show is made. Producers have taken this concept and decided to launch a new reality show - Storage Pod Wars.

Storage Pod Wars takes seven teams of creative designs and pits them against each other in a competition to see who can design the best storage pod. Teams will compete in several rounds that include inside designs, outside designs and head to head competitions.

"Decorating a specific storage pod is all the rage now", said producer Steven Smiles. "Our show takes a group of talented individuals and allows them to explore this fun and exciting creative outlet in a way that is appealing to audiences all over the world."

Decorating storage pods became a fad in early 2011, when individuals who were moving decided to show their creativity and personality through their storage pod. Not many storage facilities allowed decorating of the storage pods, which resulted in several individuals purchasing the containers and shipping them around the country to others who wanted to use them.

"We like to think of ourselves as the creative minds behind decorating storage pods", said Brandon Sanders. "We were forced to sit with a storage pod in our driveway for over three weeks and thought we'd spruce it up a little. I never thought it would spark such a nationwide interest."

Brandon Sanders' idea turned into a nationwide craze when producer Steven Smiles offered them a chance to turn it into a competition reality show. Smiles approached Sanders for help with creating challenges and events that would keep people interested.

"I have worked hands on with the creative production of this series", said Sanders. "I'm excited that a silly thing I did to decorate the house has turned into something so profitable and fun. I'm sure others will have fun decorating their storage pods in the future."

The series has been picked up by a nationwide crafting network and will be shown Friday evenings. Over 20 episodes of the series have been filmed with a possible option to be picked up for another 10.

"We were the first team to compete it's kind of exciting", said Thomas Wilds. "I think we have some creative ideas that spring out of this show, and this craze of decorating storage pods could really take off in the future."
