*Homes r Us has launched a Facebook Social Campaign to support Dubai Autism Center. *Every Like for Homes r Us Page is equivalent to AED 1.
(prHWY.com) August 8, 2012 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates -- Dubai, Aug 08, 2012: Homes r Us has announced a social campaign on their Facebook page to support Dubai Autism Center during the blessed month of Ramadan. The social campaign aims at contributing a facility to Dubai Autism Center from their range of products equivalent to the value of likes received during Ramadan.

As part of the campaign, Homes r Us invites its Facebook fans to share the spirit of Ramadan by liking their page where every like is equivalent to a value of AED 1. Towards the end of the holy month, Homes r Us will contribute funds to help enhance Dubai Autism Center's school infrastructure by providing improved and enriched facilities for children with autism. The contributions will be in the form of goods, items, and products available across Homes r Us retail stores.

"The social campaign is in line with our vision to bring about betterment in the society. We want to create awareness about autism in the community such that these children can be part of our society just like the other kids. We invite all our Facebook fans to be a part of this campaign to ensure that the initiative is a resounding success", concluded Mr. Srikanth Parthasarathy, Sr. Vice - President, Homes r Us.

The competition comes as part of Homes r Us effort to create an awareness about autism in the region through social media. The brand has to date successfully connected with a large audience base registering over 25,000 fans on its Facebook page since its launch last year.

Worldwide, the prevalence of autism is one to two for every 1,000 individuals, with numbers on the rise since the 1980s.* Autism is a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain. It results in development delays in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. Children with Autism typically show difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions etc. Autism is a lifelong disorder but with the appropriate intervention the symptoms might be reduced and skills can be acquired with many leading a semi- independent and productive life. **
