Australians Don't Need Financial Planners, They Need A Financial Education
The 21st Century Financial Education Summit features some of the most successful entrepreneurs and business leaders from around the Globe.
(prHWY.com) September 3, 2012 - South Melbourne, Australia -- Today's average 50 year old has only $2,300 saved towards their retirement, with one in five retiringwell below the poverty line.

And it's not just in retirement where we're struggling. Many Australians are surviving paycheque to paycheque with no clear understanding of how they can break the cycle and start securing their financial future, whether that be the next 10, 25, or 50 years.

In an attempt to do the right thing, many people turn to financial planners for advice. Jamie McIntyre CEO and Founder of 21st Century Financial Education says this is a common and costly mistake.

"People need to know the majority of the financial planning industry are not financial experts, but rather commission driven sales people largely employed by the banks to flog their managed funds".

With the Storm Financial fiasco still fresh in our minds and an uncertain economic future it's now more important than ever to become financially educated.

"Financial education must be taught in schools. I've been lobbying for years to make this happen butuntil that becomes a reality people should get themselves to this year's 21st Century Financial Education Summit in September".

McIntyre has engaged leading financial experts from around the world to share their knowledge with every day Australians looking to set themselves and their family up with a secure financial future.

The difference between these financial experts and the financial planners many people engage is physical results and practical life experience.

"If financial planners really know how to make their clients money, why aren't they doing it for themselves?" Says McIntyre. "Would you go see a doctor who has no real life practical experience at surgery? Of course not. So why do people take the advice of licensed financial planners, who in many cases have never invested in their life? That's like the blind leading the blind".

Speakers at the 21st Century Financial Education Summit last year included Sir Richard Branson, Tim Ferriss, Eddie McGuire, and Harry Dent. This year Apple co-founder Steve Wozinak and a cast oflocal and international world-leading speakers will take the stage.
