Golf Carts No Longer Viewed as Just Land Vehicles

(prHWY.com) September 26, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Golf carts are a traditional sight that many people associate with golf courses, but if a new invention from an up and coming golf cart manufacturer comes to light these carts could be seen on water. By Land or By Sea has developed a multi-purpose golf cart that can be used both on the land and in the water.

"These new golf carts sort of resemble boats but not really", explained inventor Steve Nash. "What I foresee people doing is riding them around say at a golf course or even at a small park. When they come upon a body of water they just drive the cart into the water and boom they have a boat."

The idea for a multi-purpose golf cart came to Steve Nash while he was heading to work one day. His commute required him to cross through a small park then walk over a bridge to get to the main land.

"There was no way that I could just go through the water", explained Nash. "If I took a bike or walked to work I had to walk an extra 30 to 40 minutes out of my way. I figured if I could build something that I could drive and then turn into a boat I could shave that time off of my commute. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have that same exact problem."

This would not be the first time a manufacturer of an automobile came up with the idea to make a car or product that could travel by both land and water. Several years ago a European automobile manufacturer tried to make a small compact car that could do that. However, the car was never released to the public.

"We want to take some of the mistakes that happened with the European prototype and apply it to our golf cart", said Nash. "I think this could be extremely successful if done properly. So far we have four or five prototypes in the making. It should be any day now that you'll see one of these on the market."

The idea for a land and sea golf cart has some people taking notice. The company recently ran a beta test requesting feedback on the product. Most people were excited about such a product.

"I think it would be amazing", wrote one reviewer. "I could feel almost like Batman with such a cool car/golf cart. I'd buy it on the spot."
