(prHWY.com) October 8, 2012 - visakhapatnam, India -- The multifaceted artiste and writer Tanikella Bharani has carved his own niche in the Telugu Film Industry. He is highly commended for being an extraordinary person with an artistic vision. He has been the creator of highly acclaimed documentaries and short stories, for which he has won several awards and appreciations.

"Midhunam", a warm love story of an aged couple is the directorial debut of the literary wizard, who has contributed immensely to the performing arts. The movie is an adaption of a novel with the same name, authored by Sreeramana. Bharani had read the novel around 15years ago and it created an indelible impression on his mind, paving the vision to bring it to life as a full length feature film. It was from then, that he had been carving his artistic intellect building the movie by each scene and essence to be filled in. He created the entire movie with the right chords in the celluloid of his mind.

Mesmerised by the story of a retired couple who live a happy life, Bharani even visualized how the characters would be and who they would be. That is how the story got carefully crafted with seasoned artistes Lakshmi and S.P.Balasubramanyam stepping into the roles of Buchhi Lakshmi and Appadaasu, who live a lonely yet happy life in their own world.

Midhunam is a story of old parents made as a visual poetry. The movie has only the two protagonists and is a portrayal of what we are missing in today's lifestyle, in what direction we are moving and how we are living.

The result of this poetic dream is now a cinematic excellence which is shot in lush green locales and is as fresh as morning dew. The music is already a hit with enchanting voices of J.Yesudas and S.P.Balasubramanyam taking us through the journey, as all the songs are situational. The movie is ready for release in the month of November +and we wish the entire team a very successful run.

The movie is based on the famous novel written by Sree Ramana. Midhunam is about an aged couple, who live life on their own and on their terms.
Appadasu and Buchhi Lakshmi played by SPB and Lakshmi, are an ideal couple living happily after completing all their worldly responsibilities. Appadasu is a retired teacher, who doesn't want to go and live with his children. He feels that after retirement, it is time for him to live a life of his choice and so remains in his home with his wife. He has certain beliefs and just lives by them. He doesn't want anyone to disturb his life or time with his wife.
Thinking idealistically, Appadasu, believes in doing all his work by himself. He makes chappal for his wife with his own hands. He wants to just relax and live happily with his wife.
