(prHWY.com) October 15, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Women often find it difficult to plan for long, extended trips where space is extremely limited. When taking part on one of these trips, women need to decide what items to take and what items to leave at home - and sometimes it's the makeup that gets left behind. That was until now.
A Seattle based makeup company has developed a facial cleanser that can double as a source of water or food. Women will be able to use this facial cleanser for not only cosmetic reasons, but for practical reasons if the need were to arise.
"We took a survey of women who went camping or traveling", explained Jennifer Young, founder of Clear Skin Cosmetics. "We discovered that women want to take their makeup and facial cleanser, but are unable to do so because of the limited amount of space they have. So, we set out to change that."
Clear Skin Cosmetics worked with engineers to develop a facial cleanser that worked just like a
regular facial cleanser, but could be used for other things. The entire bottle of facial cleanser helps get rid of makeup, dirt and oil that is sometimes left on the skin. However, it can also be used for water or food.
"Our product is made out of 100% completely organic items", explained Young. "That means that it is completely safe to consume if people really needed to. We figured this combination would encourage women to pack this item because it is now practical."
The facial cleanser has been tested in the lab and works just like non-organic facial cleansers. It can completely remove makeup that was applied in the morning. It can unclog pores and even prevent acne. All of these things are traits women look for in their cosmetics product before purchasing.
"We think it might be a hard sell when it is officially launched", explained Young. "But it could really take off. It really does have the potential to become the next big trend in the cosmetics industry."
Clear Skin Cosmetics plans on extending their all organic, dual-purpose cosmetics line if it is proven successful. The line could expand to include mascara, powder, lip gloss and foundation. There is even talk of making the product flavored.
"We discovered through lab tests and consumer panels that people were interested in flavored versions of the cosmetics", said Young. "We hope to include that in our product line by the end of the year. That is if our product really takes off."
