(prHWY.com) October 17, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- The Galapagos Islands have been known as the heart of the evolutionary world for a number of years. This year the National Science Institute, based out of Miami, Florida is planning on having the world's largest science fair right in the heart of the Galapagos Islands.

"People all know that some of the world's most interesting creatures live on the Galapagos Islands", said Teri Bradshaw, director for the National Science Institute. "What we plan on doing is gathering everyone together and having the world's largest science fair, but with a unique twist."

Most science fairs are held in convention centers or high school gyms, but this science fair will held all over the Galapagos Islands. Participants will be encouraged to take part in a five day Galapagos Island tour that will take them to all the various science exhibits that are part of the science fair.

"The whole point of this Galapagos tour is to allow people explore the wonderful world of science while surrounded by the beauty and majestic that is the Galapagos Islands", explained Bradshaw. "Some people tend to think science is boring, but how can you think that if the whole place is filled with beauty."

The National Science Institute has already reached out to over 40 different countries to see if they are willing to send participants. The participants will be able to set up their own exhibit, host conferences and explore the other science exhibits.

"We invited over 40 different countries to this tour", explained Bradshaw. "So far we have 10 countries that will be attending, 5 that are unable to due to financial situations, and the rest we haven't heard from. However, we think we can easily get another 10 by the time the tour starts."

The Galapagos tour is starting to fill up already. Many science clubs have already purchased tickets to the event and some college and universities are looking to host fundraisers to allow students to attend.

"This really should be an international affair", said Bradshaw. "I can't wait till it finally launches and we have all these people who just love science all in the same area. The best part is that when they aren't looking and learning they can experience the beautiful shores of the Galapagos Islands. It really is something that will create lasting memories for these children. It's something they will be talking about for years to come."
