So you should always watch out for those kinds of things. Just because you're goth, it does not mean you're easy. Here are a few simple things you can do to make sure people know you're serious. 1.) State your intentions. If you are looking for a serious relationship, make sure that's said in your profile. I know most people don't like to scare everyone off with saying they want something serious, but if the other party is looking for the same thing, it won't be scary. Don't be afraid to say you want this relationship to last. 2.) Pictures talk. You know that a picture is worth a thousand words, well don't let some of those words say what you don't want them to. If you post a picture with your cleavage hanging out, or just in your boxers, others are going to get the wrong message. Ladies, if guys see the T&A right off the bat, they aren't going to care about what your face looks like. Gentlemen, if the girls see your tighty whities, they might not want to see anything else. You want people to see that award winning smile, and listen to what comes out of it...not what they can put in it. 3.) Narrow your search. When making a profile, most serious people will set boundaries as to what they want in a match. So, try to avoid people who just put "no preference". It's not that they are open-minded, its more than likely that they don't care who falls into their beds. Ladies, if a guy winks at you, check his profile. If it says "no preference" all the way down the line, chances are that he's just trolling the site for tail. Gentlemen, same goes for you. Now, that doesn't go for everyone. So, if you're sitting there saying "I put no preference, but I don't want just a hook-up", well other people can see it that way! So, don't be afraid to set some preferences! Tell the world what kind of person you're looking for to have a serious relationship. 4.) Check out before you check in. When you get a quick wink or e-mail, as flattering as it is, please check the other person out before you contact them back. If you see that he/she has been winking at people all day, chances are they are not serious. Make sure you read their profile THOROUGHLY. You need to know something about this person before wasting your time. Always remember though, a long profile paragraph doesn't mean anything. Sometimes a few short lines can be worth a million.
