(prHWY.com) October 24, 2012 - Seattle, WA -- Hotels located near the airport are often praised for their close proximity to the airport. Travelers and business professionals often require hotel lodging in the event of a delayed flight or a desire to not have to wake up early to travel to the airport. While this is the main reason people visit airport hotels in Vancouver, one hotel has become a hot spot for ghost hunters.

"We have reason to believe that the Hotel Victoria may be a hot spot for ghosts and supernatural creatures", said Danny Travis, a self-professed ghost hunter. "We have received several reports from hotel guests and others that make up believe that ghosts could be in this hotel."

The Hotel Victoria was a family owned airport hotel. It originally opened up in the 1880s, long before the airport was built. It stayed in the family for several decades. There were no reports of any supernatural occurrences happening in the hotel until around 1990.

"We never received any complaints regarding supernatural activity in the hotel", said hotel manager, Jim Rivers. "It wasn't until the late 1990s that we started to get simple complaints regarding ghosts."

The complaints that came into the hotel were all simple supernatural complaints. The lights in many of the rooms would flicker, sometimes guests would say certain parts of the room felt colder than normal, and some guests said that they could hear voices. None of these complaints were ever confirmed.

"We tried to keep the rumors and gossip about ghosts down", explained Rivers. "We didn't want to become known as the haunted hotel. However, somehow it got out and we've started getting a huge influx of ghost hunters to the hotel."

The ghost hunters often come to the hotel in hopes of having a supernatural experience of their own. They will bring monitors to monitor the electrons in the air, they will bring recording devices and other things in hopes of catching the supernatural experience on tape.

"We aren't sure why people are so intrigued with our hotel", explained Rivers. "But I guess if it makes them happy we'll still allow them to come to the hotel and try. In fact, we're thinking of hosting a ghost hunter's convention here next year."

No ghost sightings have been reported at the Hotel Victoria to date. However, ghost hunters from all over the globe still gather at the spot in hopes of trying to see one.
