With only 9 testing days left in the CAT 2012 test window, CAT experts suggest that though the difficulty level is expected to follow the same pattern, CAT takers can expect more repeat questions in remaining days.
(prHWY.com) October 29, 2012 - Noida, India -- With only 9 testing days left in the CAT 2012 test window, CAT experts suggest that though the difficulty level is expected to follow the same pattern, CAT takers can expect more repeat questions in remaining days.
Arks Srinivas, CAT expert & CEO, VistaMind Education, said the rest of the CAT window is expected to carry the similar difficulty level and many of the questions might get repeated. "As most of the fresh questions have already appeared in the previous CAT papers this year, the remaining testing days will have more repeat questions."
The 21-day window for CAT 2012 started on October 11. The window will close on November 6. The exam is being taken by around 2.14 lakh candidates.
According to Gautam Puri, vice-chairman, Career Launcher, "With a few exceptions, CAT papers this year are easy to moderate. All questions are not easy and the score will ultimately depend on the ability of candidates to identify and pick right questions."
Giving a more holistic view, Srinivas said: "The first half of the CAT window has already passed. Now, we can conclude that the difficulty level this year was a little more than the previous year, as most of the test takers are attempting less number of questions."
"For last two-three years, candidates would attempt about 50 questions. But this year, it has come down to around 35. This reflects that the difficulty level was more this year than the previous two-three years," he said.
According to another expert, the first section of the paper so far has been a little more difficult, but that gets offset with lesser difficulty level of the second section that comprises DI & LR.
Friday was the 12th day of CAT 2012 window. After a one-day break on Saturday, the test resumes on Sunday, October 28. The test will continue for the next 10 days, except November 1.
Meanwhile, CAT organizers are leaving no stone unturned to avoid any technical hitches during the remaining days of CAT 2012.
The organisers are taking remedial measures in order to prevent the repetition of untoward incidents occurred on October 20, the eighth day of the examination, that left a good number of aspirants in a real fix and authorities red faced.
Prof SSS Kumar of IIM Kozhikode, the CAT convenor of 2012, earlier informed MBAUniverse.com that special arrangements were being taken at the centres which have experienced any kind of troubles in last 12 testing days.
In a conversation with MBAUniverse.com earlier, Prometric managing director Soumitra Roy assured all the registered candidates of good testing experience during the remaining CAT window 2012. "We have a robust infrastructure in place to identify and resolve issues as they surface," he said.
