(prHWY.com) October 29, 2012 - Santa Ana, CA -- Manhattan Beach, California (October 15, 2012) - The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN), is raising awareness of the disease with their lines of clothing and accessories. They feature purple pancreatic cancer shirts, jackets and other dress wear together with accessories like bags, watches and more.
The advocacy prepares purple themed clothing for men, women, and kids to enjoy. Men and women can avail of these clothes as T-shirts, fleece and jackets, headwear and dress wear. Kids can have personalized shirts with their own pictures and text.
Pancreatic cancer is considered the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the country. The American Cancer Society (ACS) reports that about 22,090 men and 21,830 women will be diagnosed with the disease in 2012. They also estimate about 18,850 men and 18,540 women will die of it in the same year. Both ACS and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) say 74% of patients die within one year after diagnosis.
While research is underway, a group like PANCAN raises awareness and provides support for people afflicted. Founded by three visionaries in 1999, the group helps patients face its seemingly insurmountable challenges. They create hope for those affected by advancing research and providing support. They maintain their headquarters in Manhattan Beach, California.
Aside from providing pancreatic cancer gifts and clothing, the advocacy also seeks volunteers and holds events. They share volunteers' stories to encourage others to pitch in the effort. Every year, they hold an Evening With The Stars gala to acknowledge those involved.
The people behind PANCAN invite everyone to take part in their fight against pancreatic cancer. Interested parties can learn more about the advocacy and their scheduled events at pancan.inkminded.com.
