"The Science of Safe Patient-Centered Care" is the topic on which MentorHealth, a leading provider of online training for the healthcare industry.
(prHWY.com) November 2, 2012 - Wilmington, DE -- Description: Health Grades, an independent healthcare ratings organization, has just published some alarming data about the American healthcare system. It costs the exchequer a whopping $ nine billion a year in patient safety incidents. It has even more disturbing data: Nearly 100,000 patients died experiencing a patient safety incident during the years 2006-08. This was a very high ten percent of the total number of a million patient-safety incidents.
Large hospitals carry out 40 wrong surgeries every day and commit over 300 mistakes of one or another kind every day.
This however, is spread very unevenly across the spectrum. The top five percent quality care providing hospitals had their patient safety incident cut down by nearly 50 percent. If hospitals at the lower rung of the healthcare spectrum could replicate the high standards set by these hospitals; the report says patient safety incidents could be brought down by over 218,000, resulting in over 22,000 fewer deaths.
This webinar will help participants to take their healthcare business to a level where they can match the top five percent.
