Raleigh roofing company, has recently been chosen by Sheetz, Inc. as a construction partner for their planned regional food manufacturing and distribution center in Burlington.
Sheetz is a family-owned business that has grown from a small dairy/deli shop to become one of the fastest-growing chains of convenience stores in the world. The company, which is based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, has more than 430 locations across six states and employs approximately 14,500 workers.

The proposed $32.8 million, 250,000-square foot center is expected to employ more than 250 people. It is seen as a critical element in Sheetz's brisk expansion plans for new convenience outlets, particularly in their North Carolina and Virginia markets.
Stan Sheetz, the president and CEO of the company, attributes the choice of the Burlington area to its outstanding highway network. According to Mr. Sheetz, the road network can help in facilitating faster movement of their products. Another attribute that swayed the company is the highly skilled and motivated workforce found in the area.
According to Alamance County Chamber of Commerce President Mac Williams, the center is expected to enhance the local economy and serve as a vehicle to attract more businesses to the region.
The new Burlington facility, under the name Sheetz Distribution Services, will be supporting the operations of stores in Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. These outlets are "kicked-up convenience" stores selling baked goods and made-to-order salads.
