Theft is a major concern, as many people pack up their entire lives and move across country. A small moving pod facility located in Georgia may have the solution for people who are worried about theft when moving long distances.
"What we've come up with is a unique way for people to move their items from one location to another", explained Paul Pines, CEO of Move It Inc. "We noticed we had numerous customers coming in here who were either worried about leaving their moving truck at a hotel overnight, or who worried about the other movers moving it for them. We took those concerns to heart and created a new moving truck/moving pods just for those people."
The moving pods that Move It Inc. designed looked just like average moving pods on the outside, but there are a few added elements that make them secure and safe for people worried about theft while they are gone. The first added element is a tiny little compartment in the front of the moving pod that people can use for lodging.
"This small lodging room allows people to sleep
inside the moving pod", explained Pines. "It's no huge hotel room, but it provides people with a nice, relaxing place to lay their head while they are moving. It also gives them comfort as they are near their items and can keep watch over them."
Another addition to the moving pods is a tiny bathroom that can be used while on the go. These tiny bathrooms feature a small shower, toilet and sink. It is located near the front with the front of the moving pod.
"We have also equipped the moving pods with tiny bathrooms", explained Pines. "This allows people to be able to use the facilities without worrying about leaving their belongings unwatched."
Moving pod theft is very low across the United States. However, that does not calm the fears of many. In fact, since Move It Inc. released its ultra-secure moving pods, they have had numerous requests to use the pods.
"We released these moving pods on a Monday", said Pines. "It was maybe two weeks later and we had a huge waiting list of people. We had 20 moving pods like this and our waiting list was off the charts. It's amazing the response we got."
