People of Shirdi and staff of Hotel Sai Sahavas were eagerly awaiting the inauguration of Shirdi Sai Ashram by President Pranab Mukherjee. But, he cancelled his visit and the reasons for it are not known.
(prHWY.com) November 23, 2012 - Shirdi, India -- Shirdi, Maharashtra - When the news about President Pranab Mukherjee's visit to Shirdi on 16th of November was making rounds all over the town, entire staff of Hotel Sai Sahavas was thrilled about it. They were expecting a massive turnout of visitors to this region as this news spread to different corners. The president of India was scheduled to visit Shirdi for the inauguration of Shree Sai Nivas Dharamshala, which is a newly constructed eco-friendly Sai Ashram having modern facilities. Governor K. Sankaranarayanan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan and other important guests were to be present on the occasion.
Construction of this Ashram is a major achievement for Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust. Spread across a vast area, there are 1,536 rooms in Sai Ashram 1 and 192 dormitories in Sai Ashram 2. Infrastructure for Shirdi Sai Ashram includes water supply, power, roads, walkways and parking facilities. The entire complex is surrounded by trees, shrubs, plantations and gardens, giving it a green cover. It also has two sewage treatment plants for the purpose of recycling water for non-drinking purposes. Hot water will be supplied to all rooms with the help of a solar water heater. Former president, Pratibha Patil, had made a trip to Shirdi five years back to inaugurate Sai Prasadalaya. After the inauguration of Sai Ashram, pilgrims planning to visit Shirdi could have been able to make online reservations from Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
But, pilgrims would now have to wait for some more time as President Pranab Mukherjee cancelled his two-day trip to Maharashtra. He was to present Jamnalal Bajaj Awards on the 15th of November in Mumbai and inaugurate Sai Ashram on the 16th of November in Shirdi. The reasons for this cancellation of visit are not known, but people of Shirdi and the staff of Hotel Sai Sahavas are hopeful that the inauguration would take place soon.
