Choosing to bat first, Danube Lions lost an early wicket of Bhaktiyar, however continued to battle against the opposition team with Maqsood and Asif gaining a steady partnership of 42 runs. When Asif was declared out at 24 runs the partnership was further continued between Krishna and Maqsood scoring 68 runs after 10 overs when Maqsood fell.

Next to play at the pitch was Prashanth who made batting look so easy with his powerful hitting, scoring 48 runs in just 19 balls with 6 massive sixes taking Danube's score to 140 in 18 overs. The chances to score a good 160 runs looked positive, however tight bowling by capatin Peter Boran who got the vital wicket of Prashanth restricted Danube Lions to a respectable total of 152 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Netherlands had a thumping start by their openers & particularly Stephan Myburgh who showed up a good performance of 60 runs in their first 6 overs making full use of their power play.
That is the time Danube spinners came in to action and the young off spinner, SanjeevaDas and Sameer Nayak along with Captain Mashood halted the progress of Netherlands.

Netherlands lost three quick wickets due to some tight bowling of their spinners and at one stage were 93 for 3 still wanting to score 60 runs in 8 overs. It seemed that Danube would have a chance to win the match, but unfortunately Andre from Danube Lions could not hold on to the catch of the strike hit by the Netherlands team.
Myburgh then batted cautiouslyensuring there were no further alarms and remained unbeaten on 85 as Netherlands got home with 10 balls to spare.

Anis Sajan, the Managing Director of Danube Group and founder of Danube Lions said, " I am delighted to see my players in action against the national team of Netherlands and very proud of the way my boys fought against such an experienced team".
