Massachusetts Overnight Summer Camp

(prHWY.com) December 14, 2012 - Monterey, MA -- At Camp Half Moon, children are given a structure that grounds them and gives them the confidence to explore and to grow. To encourage exploration and discovery, we allow campers to create their own schedules by selecting activities from a weekly roster. Our counselors are trained to provide active support in helping campers develop positive social values, values that enable children to meet different social challenges.

Camp Half Moon is considered a home away from home. Surrounded by our loving staff and campers we assure that no child will feel alone. Our counselors range in age from 18 to 26 years, and are carefully screened and trained. There is one counselor for every five campers. Our staff truly gets to know each and every camper, making for a more richly rewarding experience for everyone. With most of our staff returning each summer our campers can really get close with their counselor, creating a more loving environment.

We usually kick off our morning routine at 7:15 and eat breakfast around 8 o'clock. Throughout the day every camper will have numerous in and outdoor activities to choose from. Whether your child is into sports, drama, art or nature we have many activities for them to enjoy. The heart of our facilities here at Camp Half Moon is the beautiful waterfront on Lake Buel. Here you can go sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and even waterskiing. It is nearly impossible to have a boring moment at Half Moon while soaking up the sun and hanging out with friends.
